The Mpumalanga Department of Education has learnt with shock of an incident that occurred at Mabande Secondary School, at Emalahleni Local Municipality where it is alleged that a 17 year old learner shot to death a fellow learner yesterday on 23 October 2014.
This unfortunate incident apparently took place after school while learners were about to go home.
The department will investigate the circumstances that lead to this sad development, at the same time will also send a team of officials to render counseling services to learners and teachers.
The department takes this opportunity to convey its profound condolences to the bereaved family and to the school.
