Minerals and Energy invites media to a farewell function

The Department of Minerals and Energy invite the media to witness the eighth
farewell function of 10 previously disadvantaged students who were awarded
scholarship to study in Malaysia.

These students will be studying towards engineering and information
technology/information system to address and close the scarce skills gap
currently experienced by the country.

Thus far 17 students have graduated from the programme and are all employed
by government and companies such as Eskom, PetroSA etc. Presently 37 students
are already registered and eight are currently doing their industrial training
with various companies across the country, another group is expected to
graduate in August 2006.

The farewell function to these deserving students will be held on:
