Seventy five motorists were arrested on Friday by the elite North West Public Safety Traffic Enforcement Unit nicknamed jaws at a roadblock in Zeerust to execute warrants of arrests for unpaid traffic fines.
Three hundred and fifty three motorists have been arrested and over R164 000 in unpaid traffic fines recouped since the commencement of special operations to execute warrants of arrests began on Monday.
The Department of Public Safety advises motorist to either visit traffic offices in their respective areas to check for outstanding traffic fines or alternatively call the departmental call centre on 018 381 6500 to avoid the inconvenience of being arrested as the operations to execute warrants of arrests are intensified throughout the province.
