North West MEC for Public Safety, Howard Yawa has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of three Kimberley dog unit police members who died in a car accident on the N12 between Christiana and Bloemhof on Friday evening around 17h50.
The driver of the VW Polo private vehicle they were travelling in on their way from a dog handling course in Pretoria allegedly lost control of the vehicle, it subsequently overturned and all three passengers in the vehicle died at the scene of the accident.
Bloemhof police are investigating the cause of the accident and a case of culpable homicide.
Meanwhile, MEC Yawa advises motorists to drive within permissible speed limits, as speeding contribute to most accidents and fatalities on public roads.
