MEC Gerrit van Rensburg honoured Mandela Day by dedicating 67 minutes to the Baphumelele Fountain of Hope food garden in the Philippi Horticulture Area in Cape Town today. He donated a vegetable garden suitcase from the Western Cape Department of Agriculture to assist the food garden in future.
The suitcase includes tools, seeds, fertiliser, pesticides, as well as seedlings to kick start a garden. He also did some planting and weeding in the existing garden.
