Water and Sanitation on water supply interruption in some parts of Port Elizabeth
Planned water supply interruption in some parts of Port Elizabeth
There will be a planned water supply interruption due to water works along a newly constructed intersection at Bay West Mall on the N2. The supply will be interrupted from today the 22 to 23 July 2015 from 08h00 on 22 July to approximately 08h00 the next day. This is due to the planned connection of a diverted section of the main water pipe. The diversion was required to keep the water supply in place while construction was also in progress.
The following areas will be affected by the interruption:
- Rowallan Park East of Lategan Avenue
- Westering
- Morningside
- Malabar
- Parkside
- Parkridge
- Gelvan Park
- Springdale
- Barcelona
- Helenvale
- Parsonsvlei
- Hunters Close
- Kabega Park
- Linton Grange
- Franciss Evatt Park
- Cotswold West of Disa Avenue
- Cotswold Extension
- Fernglen
- Sundridge Park
- Framesby
Water pressure will also decrease in Sherwood, Bay West and surrounding areas connected to the affected supply scheme. The affected communities are urged to use water wisely and sparingly during this period. Once all the connections are in place, water supply will be restored.
