Premier Hazel Jenkins visited Keurtjieskloof an area in Vanderkloof Dam on 26 October 2011. During this visit she urged the community of Vanderkloof Dam to educate their children from an early age to become educated and respectable members of the community.
The sole purpose of the visit was to hand over Educational Toys, Kiddies Tables, Chairs and Curtains. In furtherance of the common and good, we have no option but to ensure that these children get good quality education, said Premier.
Nonthlupeko Sylvia Blok the teacher of the crèche was very much overwhelmed with joy for the quick response from the Office of Premier. When Premier visited Keurtjieskloof Primary School, for her 67 minutes during Mandela Day 2011, she made a commitment and promise to the crèche that she would replace most of the stolen goods at the crèche.
She really kept her promise and made a difference in the lives of those who are needy but are willing to make the best out of their situation. Premier said: “We must work relentlessly to ensure that we create a favourable environment that encourages children to reach their full potential”.
Her final words of support and encouragement were every parent, teacher and member of the community must take ownership of the crèche and ensure that it is a safe place for the children with all the necessary requirements of a crèche.
