The Department of Roads and Transport, in its effort to improve access to services, has entered into a partnership with the South African Post Office (SAPO) to enable vehicle owners renew licenses at a number of outlets in the province.
With a wide network of outlets throughout the province, this is expected to improve access to services for residents of Gauteng. This service has been available since August 2009.
To renew licenses, vehicle owners are expected to produce a printed renewal notice and the identity (ID) book or applicants will have to complete relevant documentation before processing can take place.
To date approximately 80 post office outlets are currently rendering this service. During his 2010/11 budget speech, MEC for Roads and Transport, Mr Bheki Nkosi said the department will again partner with SAPO to launch additional post office outlets for vehicle license renewals.
For more information on the renewal of vehicle licenses, contact the provincial National Traffic Information Systems (eNaTIS) office on (011) 891 0001.
