Talks continued in Pretoria today, led by Mineral Resources Minister Adv Ngoako Ramatlhodi, to find solutions to the current impasse in the platinum wage talks.
“We are still engaging with all parties. Deliberations are at a sensitive stage, and we all remain committed to the process,” the Minister said.
Immediately following his appointment the Minister initiated talks between labour union AMCU (the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union) and mining companies Anglo Platinum, Lonmin and Impala Platinum.
Furthermore, he established an intergovernmental technical team to work with labour and business to resolve the strike in the North-West platinum belt.
Talks will resume on Monday.
