On Sunday, 2 October 2011, three people have been arrested for illegally crossing the Lebombo Border post at Komatipoort in Mpumalanga. The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has impounded nine boxes of birds which were in possession of the three suspects.
The three suspects have been taken to the Lebombo South African Police Service (SAPS). This is part of the SANDF safeguarding mandate, thus ensuring that South Africans are and feel safe by protecting its territorial integrity.
