The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is inviting all prospective suppliers to bid for a tender to do repairs and upgrade to the Mthatha Airport Terminal building.
This upgrade was halted last year due to budgetary constraints. It is in line with the department’s Blue Skyway Aviation Strategy which seeks to improve the conditions and services of provincial airports, particularly Bhisho and Mthatha airports.
In order to qualify and be considered, bidders must be registered with Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), must have a designation of 8 GB and must pay a non–refundable deposit of R400.00.
Tender documents will be available at the Department of Transport Head Offices Room C1, Stellenbosch Park Building, in Schornville King William’s Town, as from Monday 6 June 2011.
Once completed the documents must be addressed and hand delivered to a tender bid box that will be situated at the C Block entrance foyer of the department’s offices, also in King Williams Town.
A compulsory clarification meeting is to be held on 14 June 2011 and prospective bidders are required to attend and meet the Project Manager at 10h00 at Mthatha Airport Terminal Building.
Closing date for bidding is Thursday, 30 June 2011 at 11h00.
