Two more people died as a result of an accident that took place in New Year’s Eve in Bushbuckridge. The two died yesterday at the hospital and they include a 16 year-old teenager who was driving the vehicle at the time.
Initially five youngsters were killed instantly on Monday night (11h40) when a Navara double cab Bakkie overturned between Thulamahashe and Dwarsloop in Bushbuckridge. The vehicle was transporting 13 youngsters at the time and the teenage driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Vusi Shongwe has called on parents to ensure that unlicensed youngsters do not access vehicles even if it is in the townships because this places lives of other road users in danger.
