Two men have been arrested after allegedly defacing the controversial portrait of President Jacob Zuma at the Goodman Gallery at Parkwood, Johannesburg.
The two men, 58 and 25 years of age allegedly made crosses with red paint and smeared black paint respectively on the portrait.
Both men are in police custody and are likely to face a charge of Malicious Damage to Property. They are expected to appear in the Hillbrow magistrate’s court on Thursday, 24 May 2012 on this charge.
