A driver and a passenger died after a bakkie lost its trailer, which hit a taxi between Mafikeng and Lichtenburg on Saturday. The driver and female passenger died on the scene, and unknown number of passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide. Meanwhile a pedestrian was fatally wounded after being hit by a vehicle on Friday on the R510 next to the military base in Mogwase.
The diseased was certified dead on the scene and police are also investigating a case of culpable homicide. Human Settlements Public Safety and Liaison MEC Nono Maloyi has called on motorist to be more careful on provincial roads, more especially during the weekends.
