Transport offers 42 full-time bursaries

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is offering 42 bursaries for full-time study on transport related studies.

For potential candidates, preference will be given to individuals who excel academically and demonstrate potential and are not benefiting from any other bursary scheme. Interested applicants will have to meet admission requirements as stipulated by the university/technikon and should have at least obtained a D aggregate symbol in mathematics and science or A level.

The Department’s bursary programme has proved to be very beneficial and rewarding to hundreds of Eastern Cape youth, who have benefited from the programme in the recent years.

The bursaries are offered in the following fields of study:

 

  • Transport Economics and Transport Management (03)
  • ND/BSc: Civil Engineering (10)
  • ND/BSc: Mechanical Engineering (5)
  • ND/BSc: Electrical Engineering (5)
  • B Degree in Freight (3)
  • ND/B Degree in Maritime Studies (4)
  • Aviation (2)
  • B Degree in Railway Engineering (10)

 

Application forms are available at the Human Resource Development Offices of the Department of Transport in King Williams Town and all six district offices in Port Elizabeth, Aliwal North, Queenstown, Mthatha, Kokstad and East London.

The closing date is on 29 October 2010.
