The companies will participate in the Investment and Trade Initiative (ITI) taking place in Moscow and Novosibirsk, Russia on 23 to 27 March 2015 led by the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti).

The purpose of the ITI is to advance South Africa’s export and investment agenda in Russia and to strengthen commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

According to the Chief Operations Officer of the company Mr Siyabonga Zikhali, Empilo-Ende manufactures nutrition based dried food products and supplements and currently employs 19 full time staff.

“We are excited about participating in this ITI as it will further assist us to explore expanding the reach of our products. We wanted to participate in this mission so we can piggy back on the current efforts by our government to increase trade with Russia,” he added.

Zikhali said his company has participated in previous missions by the dti to Brazil, Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola. He said these missions have given them great exposure to international markets and as a result he has been able to establish networks in those countries.

The delegation, which departs on tomorrow, will participate in investment seminars, business to business meetings and visits to different business sites.
