Tourism on fatal N4 accident

Department of Tourism devastated by the fatal N4 accident 5 March 2022

The Department of Tourism is greatly saddened by the fatal accident on the N4 toll road in Mpumalanga which caused the deaths of five people, including three Dutch tourists, on 4 March 2022.

It is said that the accident occurred when a truck and a minibus taxi were involved in a side swipe collision. The truck was then subsequently involved in a head-on collision with a light delivery vehicle that was going in the opposite direction.

“We wish the survivors of this tragic accident a speedy recovery. Our heartfelt condolences go to the families and friends of those killed in the accident,” said Deputy Minister Mahlalela.

The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) has activated the tourism victim support programme and the Department will provide necessary support in this regard.
