During the early hour of this morning a group of eight heavily armed men stormed in Engine filling station at Sabie. The staff was held at gun point, before the robbers blew–up a ATM solution sponsored by ABSA with commercial explosive. The suspects fled the scene in two vehicles, Audi A4 (White) and VW Polo (blue), with unknown registration numbers.
A similar incident also happened in Witbank this morning where two ATMs (ABSA and FNB) were blown-up. The suspects escaped in a grey BMW, also with unknown registration.
In all incidents the suspects covered their faces with balaclavas; an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. No one was injured during these robberies, no shots were fired and a search for the suspects is currently underway.
Community members are therefore requested to assist with any information that may lead to the arrest the suspect. It is also advised the community should not approach the suspect as they are deemed dangerous.
