The raid, authorised by the Cape Town magistrate court, took place following information that the dancers were working in South Africa in contravention of immigration permit laws.
In this regard, the exotic dancers had been illegally issued with corporate permits, which are normally issued for farm and mine workers, to enter South Africa
In the raid and in addition to the exotic dancers police and the Home Affairs Inspectorate unit discovered that other illegal practices were in progress on the premises and consequently 17 patrons (seven South Africans, one British, five Turkish, two Dutch, one Indian and one Chinese) were arrested and will appear in court as soon as investigations are completed.
Once again the raid communicates a positive message that South Africa will not tolerate the abuse of its permitting system for nefarious activities and accordingly the full might of the law will be brought to bear on those responsible for such illegal activities.
