In an effort to boost staff moral and ensure that they are comfortable, Tembisa Hospital renovated doctors’ residences, installed new furniture and upgraded security for their safety. The doctors who were accommodated at the Midrand Village during the renovations, moved to the improved residence last week.
The residences are equipped with washing machines in the laundry and the kitchen has new cupboards with stoves.
To improve security, surveillance cameras have been installed and the entrance is fitted with an electronic system where each resident will use their pin to access the area. A guard house is also built at the entrance where a security guard will be in place for 24hours.
Hospital CEO, Dr Daisy Pekane says the renovations have been inspected and welcome by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
“We are pleased that the project has been completed and that hard working doctors will have a comfortable place to rest after helping patients in need of medical care at the hospital,” she said.
