Suspect arrested for possession of suspected stolen cash of R500 000: Beaufort West

Following investigations conducted by the K9-unit (dog unit) based in Beaufort West a suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen cash of approximately R500 000.

On Saturday evening, 16 June 2012 at about 20h30 a green Marco Polo bus that was en-route from Cape Town to Johannesburg was stopped at a garage on the N1 highway in Beaufort West. The bus was searched and in the luggage compartment a black suitcase was found containing a large sum of cash.

The owner of the bag, a 29 year-old male passenger from Katlehong (Gauteng) was arrested. He will appear in the Beaufort West Magistrates’ court today, 18 June 2012.
