State Security responds to false media reports regarding statements by Numsa

Ministry of State Security refutes claims of false reports

The Ministry has noted Thursday’s media reports on the statement made by Numsa pertaining to “alleged involvement of State Security Agents in efforts to destabilise the union and accuse it of planning to effect a regime change”.

The Ministry refute these allegations with the contempt they deserve and further express our concern at the politicization of the work of state agents in matters that are the domain of union structures and leadership thereof.

The Minister of State Security, Mr David Mahlobo, MP has requested the Inspector General of Intelligence, Advocate Faith Doreen Radebe to conduct an investigation into these allegations, including the so called “intelligence report”. The Ministry appeal to them to cooperate with this process. The Minister is also seeking to meet with Numsa on these matters.
