Sport, Arts and Culture on additional submission platform for Mzansi Golden Economy grant funding applications

The National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture announced the reopening of the Revised Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE) open call grant funding applications to the cultural and creative industries/ Arts, Culture and Heritage Fraternity on the 20th of March 2025.

Applications are to be submitted manually from the 10th to the 12th of April 2025 at various venues in the respective provinces.

However, the Department has now introduced an additional submission platform. In addition to the drop-off venues listed below, applications can be emailed to MGEapplications2025@dsac.gov.za  from 08:00 on the 10th of April until 17:00 on the 12th of April 2025.

Applications must not be submitted at the below-listed venues or via the email address MGEapplications2025@dsac.gov.za  on any other day not specified above.

Applicants must choose only one submission platform (i.e. must not submit manually at a drop-off venue and through email)

Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE)

Launched with a mandate to increase economic growth and to create jobs in the country, the Mzansi Golden Economy strategy considers the arts, culture, and heritage sector as the “new gold” which has the potential to reposition the sector as the key market player in the country’s economic development. With improved investment in key creative economy areas, the department believes the strategy has the potential to enhance job creation, and productivity as well as to increase the sector’s global competitiveness.

The Open Call is for the following streams:

  • Cultural and Creative Industries Projects (CCIPs) and
  • Touring Ventures- International Tours
