We know that government departments are supposed to cooperate, but Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA’s) netball team can't help but feel proud after giving Transnet a proper trouncing during a recent inter-departmental game.
After all, SRSA is the home of South African sport, so a win is only appropriate!
Cheered on by SRSA's acting Director-General Sumayya Khan, the SRSA team walked away with a 3-1 win despite having to play in semi-dark conditions.
Siphokazi Matholengwe was the star of the show, scoring most of the winning goals.
The win boosted the morale of the team - a positive spirit that they hope will also rub off on the South African national Netball team who will be taking part in the Netball World Championship in Singapore during the first week of July.
