South African orders investigation into passport in possession of an alleged terror suspect

The South African government has initiated an investigation into the authenticity of the alleged South African passport used by a British national suspected to be involved in the recent Kenyan terrorist attacks.

South Africa’s Home Affairs department will liaise with the relevant law enforcement agencies in the country and internationally as part of this investigation.

Upon concluding its investigation, the government will advise of the outcome of the investigation.

We reiterate our conviction that our passports are safe and secure.
