On Tuesday 11 October 2011, at or around 3h00, patrolling members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) confiscated illegal goods at Komatipoort border post in Mpumalanga. Two suspects escaped upon being spotted by the SANDF members and abandoned their goods.
The goods which were in possession of the suspects include the following:
- Thirty two (32) bags of second hand clothes.
- Twenty bottles of 250ml of gin.
The goods are estimated to be worth over twenty two thousand rand. The SANDF ensures that South African citizens are and feel safe by protecting its territorial integrity.
Last Sunday, 2 October 2011, three people have been arrested for illegally crossing the Lebombo Border post at Komatipoort in Mpumalanga. The SANDF has impounded nine boxes of birds which were in possession of the three suspects.
The three suspects have been taken to the Lebombo SAPS. This is part of the SANDF safeguarding mandate, thus ensuring that South Africans are and feel safe by protecting its territorial integrity.
