The South African Children's Parliament has a new speaker

Kimberley, 06 October 2017:  The South African children attending the Children's parliament in Kimberley have chosen a new Speaker of the Children’s Parliament.

Seluleko Ndlovu (16) from Claremont in Durban was chosen by his new honourable members on the occasion of the 7th sitting of the Children's Parliament in Kimberly, Northern Cape.

Honourable Speaker is a Grade 11 pupil from Sithengile High School. He is not new to leadership, he is currently the Ethekwini Municipality Children's officer. He told his honourable members that he is committed to championing issues of children.

He won the moot court competition organised by the Departments of Basic Education and Justice and Correctional Services. He also won the writing competition in celebration of the establishment of our Constitution and the National Council of Provinces.
