The Minister of Human Settlements Mr Tokyo Sexwale, who is currently Acting Minister of Arts and Culture, signed a Programme of Cooperation with the Chinese Vice Minister of Culture, Mrs Zhao Shaohua today on 2 August 2011 in Pretoria. The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Dr Joe Phaahla was in attendance.
Upon signing of the agreement, both Ministers expressed their appreciation of the diplomatic relations that exists between the two countries since December 2007. A strong indication of this existing relation was the participation of South Africa at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. South Africa and China will further implement the exciting vibrant cultural programme that will benefit both countries.
