Mpumalanga MEC for Safety, Security and Liaison Vusi Shongwe has conveyed his condolences to Pienaar bereaved families after five people were killed when a Toyota Quantum taxi collided with a truck.
The taxi was on its way to Nelspruit when the accident happened. At least one passenger was airlifted to hospital while other three were one critically injured. Another five were slightly injured.
Shongwe called on the taxi drivers to be extra cautious on the roads when transporting people.
“I am calling for patience and respect from our drivers, otherwise we will lose the whole if we fail to exercise caution,” said Shongwe.
The police have started with the investigations.
