At its meeting held on Tuesday, 22 May 2012, the Justice & Constitutional Development Portfolio Committee resolved to call for written submissions from interested individuals and parties on the draft Sexual Offences Amendment Bill (See Attached) which seeks to amend the Sexual Offences Act of 2007.
In the light of recent developments the Portfolio Committee wishes to stress the urgency of this matter. Therefore, the deadline for written submissions is Monday, 28 May 2012, and, the Portfolio Committee will not conduct public hearings based on the written submissions it receives. However, serious consideration will be given to all written submissions.
