The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) has appointed Dr Teboho Maitse as the Deputy Chairperson, subsequently will act as a Chairperson effective from 1 December 2011. In terms of Section 9(a) of the CGE Act 39 of 1996, the term of office for Commissioner Mfanozelwe Shozi – Deputy Chairperson acting as Chairperson will expire on 30 November 2011.
Therefore; Plenary of Commissioners met on the 14 November 2011 and Dr Maitse was elected as the Deputy Chairperson of the CGE Dr Maitse will act as chairperson until the President of the Republic, Honourable Jacob Zuma decides to fill the position.
