Select Committee on Security and Constitutional Development concluded the public hearings on the Traditional Courts Bill

The Select Committee on Security and Constitutional Development has concluded the week-long public hearings on the proposed legislation on the traditional courts.

The Committee Chairperson, Mr Tjheta Mofokeng says they noted all the recommendations made and concerns raised about the Bill during oral submissions by several concerned stakeholders, including two government ministries.

“As the Committee we have carefully and impartially listened to all the participants who made their voices heard at the hearings and noted their divergent views without making any conclusion. The committee will meet at a later stage to further deliberate on the consolidated report from all inputs in order to make an informed decision on the next step," said Mr Mofokeng.
