Gauteng Department of Health and Social Development assures the community that security personnel based at Dr George Mukhari and Bertha Gxowa Hospitals are functioning.
Last week, security personnel at these hospitals were on a go-slow due to a dispute with their employers over bonuses and salary payments.
The Department is committed to paying service providers and payments are improving. During the month of December 2011, the department has paid over R600m bringing relief to different service providers.
Working with provincial treasury, the department will endeavour to pay even more service providers in the near future.
