Sebegoe welcomes new force of energy for Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs

The Acting North West MEC for Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Paul Sebegoe has welcomed the appointment of the new Head of Department, Monnapula Motlogelwa who assumed duty on 1 March 2013 at a recent extended management meeting held.

Motlogelwa has previously been with the then Department of Local Government and Housing in the North West as Chief Director Local Government and later joined the Department of Human Settlement and Public Safety as a Chief Director and Acting Head of Department.

He has vast experience in local government, amongst others from being a Municipal Manager at Greater Taung Local Municipality, an Administrator at Lekwa Teemane and then Mafikeng Local Municipalities and we are confident that he will definitely take the department to greater heights. “He is a shrewd administrator and brings with him wealth of experience in both local government and strategic management which will all come handy in turning around local government in the province such that our municipalities are able to render services and remain accountable to our communities.” said Sebegoe.

MEC Sebegoe also thanked the outgoing Acting Head of Department, Seth Ramagaga for keeping the fires burning, for the past two years. He further urged staff to afford the new HoD all the necessary cooperation in order for a strong team to emerge and enforce service delivery out there.
