Science and Technology calls for proposals for Innovations in Science and Technology in developing countries

Innovations in Science and Technology in developing countries - Call for proposals now open!

The International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South-South Cooperation (ISTIC) and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) are collaborating on a project aimed at identifying, rewarding and disseminating best practices in the innovative use of science and technology in the development of new products, processes or services that have had an impact on economic development in the South.

Scientists, entrepreneurs and others are invited to submit summaries of their work using the official submission form by 1 April 2015.  A panel of experts will select the best 10 to 15 case studies, and the authors of these will be invited to present full-length reports at a workshop in Malaysia scheduled for 10-11 October 2015.

During the workshop, the best presentations will receive cash prizes (US$5 000 for the first prize, US$3 000 for the second and US$2 000 for the third). The case studies of all finalists will be published by ISTIC and TWAS and made freely available throughout the South.
