The SADTU strike has not had a major impact in most parts of the country today as teaching and learning is taking place.
According to reports from provinces it seems in most parts of the country it has been a normal school day.
Early reports indicate that the North West province is the most affected with 224 teachers reported to be absent while the gates at 7 schools were locked and no schooling taking place.
In Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape no reports of disruptions had been reported earlier this morning.
The Department’s strike committees in all provinces are monitoring the situation and will send regular reports about any incidents that may arise.
