Parliament disassociates itself from the scam e-mail letter, featuring Parliament’s emblem and in the name of Parliament’s newly-appointed Parliamentary Budget Office Director, Professor Mohammed Jahed.
The scam letter informs the recipient of the email letter that their “contract/inheritance/Wining (sic) file” has been verified and asks the recipient to forward their details. It states that Minister of Finance Mr Pravin Gordhan gave an “instruction” in his February 2013 budget speech about how payment should be made to the recipient.
Similar scam e-mails have circulated in previous years and the revised version referred to above is now doing the rounds.
We urge members of the public to ignore such letters.
