The SAPS Kimberley Cluster together with Northern Cape Agri-forum, Department of Education, Department of Transport Safety and Liaison, Community Policing Forum, District Council and faith based organisations pledged to work in partnership against crime in Northern Cape.
The event kick started yesterday, in Griekwastad with more than 100 community members participating in a march and motorcade in support of partnership against crime in the Northern Cape Province.
During the event the pastors prayed over the police, so that the Almighty God should give them strength and courage to fight against crime and the Northern Cape Police Band entertained the audience with music items.
The community and stakeholders committed themselves to work closer with the police in the endeavour to eradicate social crimes, and other related criminal activities within the Northern Cape.
Major General Jeanne Abrahams, when she addressed the community gathered in a local church, she emphasised the importance of involvement of all sectors in the Moral Regeneration campaign, as this will eradicate crimes against women and children, and to respect the constitutional rights of individuals.
