The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) welcomes the ruling in its favour by the North Gauteng High Court staying the order awarded by the same court on 1 July 2014 to arrest the Secretary for Defence, Dr Sam Gulube, the Chief of the South African National Defence Force General Solly Shoke and the Chief of the Air Force Lt General Zimpande Msimang.
The stay of the execution of the order to arrest was granted by the same Judge Ms Teffo. It has been our contention and interpretation that this matter was to serve before the court on 22 July 2014 as stipulated by the provisional court order of 30 May 2014. Our interpretation therefore has been confirmed by the same court. Furthermore we do not have to reinstate the applicants pending the appearance on the 22 July 2014.
