Members of the media are advised to apply for media accreditation for the biggest World Summit to be convened by the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). Jointly hosted by the South African Local Government (SALGA) and eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, the 6th UCLG Congress and World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders will take place at Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre, Durban on 11 – 15 November 2019, the first-ever gathering to be held in the African soil.
Launched in May 2004, the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) is the global advocate and representative of democratic local government. It has members in over 136 countries across the world, bringing together individual cities, regional and national local government associations in one united global organisation.
The World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders is the largest gathering of Mayors, Presidents of Associations, Councillors, and Local and Regional practitioners from around the World.
Members of the media are requested to register for compulsory media accreditation by no later than 2 November 2019 for purposes of vetting by the State Security.

No media accreditation will be considered at the event. Accreditation will be issued from 10 November 2019.
