Road Traffic Management on arrest of two suspects for allegedly making fake vehicle licence

Two suspects age 27 and 28 were arrested in central Pretoria when law enforcement officers raided an internet cafe suspected of manufacturing false vehicle registration documents.

Members of Road Traffic Management's anti-corruption unit, the SAPS organised unit and Gauteng Traffic compliance unit raided the cafe after obtaining information that it operated as a centre for the printing of fake vehicle licences.

Four computers were confiscated during the raid including a number of vehicle registration face value documents

The suspects are held at Pretoria Central Prison and they are expected to appear in the local magistrate court on charges relating to fraud.

This raid is part of Operation Domino which is intended to deal with corruption that related to the use of unlicensed and un-roadworthy vehicle on public roads.

Law enforcement agencies are intensifying their drive against fraud and corruption and a number pre festive season crackdowns will be undertaken as part of efforts to promote safety on the roads.
