ROAD SAFETY TAKEN ANOTHER LEVEL HIGHER
Mpumalanga: Transport Director-General Mr. George Mahlalela will join Mpumalanga MEC for Roads and Transport, Dr. Clifford Mkasi during the official launch the Community Road Safety Council in the province. The MEC and Director-General will be joined by senior national and provincial officials during the launch.
The launch of the community Road Safety Council forms part of the process to intensify road safety initiatives in line with the National Rolling Enforcement Plan and the Make Roads Safe Campaign in line with the United Nations' Decade of Action against Road Deaths from 2011 to 2020.
Road Safety Councils have already been launched in other provinces such as KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng, the Western and Eastern Cape provinces in order to make road safety part and parcel of everyday life in communities.
