Management arrangements by the Western Cape Education Department to monitor attendance of educators during today’s industrial strike action indicate that there has been a decrease in school closures and teacher absenteeism since yesterday.
- Six percent (99) of our schools closed as a result of today’s industrial strike action
- 18.9 percent of educators were absent from work.
We are thankful that the vast majority of our schools in the Western Cape continued to function.
We continue to advise parents and caregivers to send their children to school on Monday.
