Results of the national road safety debating competition

North West province provided evidence to be the best debating team as far as road safety is concerned. This after the team emerged the overall victor in the 2009 national road safety debating competition. Learners from North West narrowly beat those from Northern Cape province at the well packed hall in Bains Lodge in Bloemfontein.

The prizes that the winning team members received include a laptop valued at R7 000, an iPod valued R3 000 and a digital photo album valued at R2 500 each.

The award ceremony was graced by the attendance of Free State MEC for Police, Roads and Transport Mr Thabo Manyoni, 2009 Traffic Officer of the Year Mr Collins Govender and the CEO of the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) Mr Ranthoko Rakgoale.

Ms Yvette Kanyingo from the province of North West was crowed the best speaker of the competition.
