The Electoral Commission (IEC) said in Pretoria that the African National Congress won all 12 seats contested in the municipal ward by-elections which took place on 27 January 2010.
Voter turnout varied between 60.45 percent and 16.24 percent with an average of 30.34 percent.
The new councillors representing the African National Congress are:
* Siphiwo Benz Funde in ward three in Ndlambe (Port Alfred), EC105, Eastern Cape
* Mosebi Michael Tsiloana in ward one in Letsemeng (Koffiefontein), FS161, Free State
* Siena Cloete in ward two in Letsemeng (Koffiefontein), FS161, Free State
* Vukani Robert Vundla in ward 12 in Mkhondo (Piet Retief), MP303, Mpumalanga
* Lindokuhle Blessing Robert Dhlamini in ward two in Lekwa (Standerton), MP305, Mpumalanga
* Maria Mankomo Mnisi in ward four in Lekwa (Standerton), MP305, Mpumalanga
* Sechaba Stephen Mosia in ward 12 in Lekwa (Standerton), MP305, Mpumalanga
* Mphikeleli George Makhanye in ward 14 in Lekwa (Standerton), MP305, Mpumalanga
* Ponono Jessie Mahlangu in ward 24 in Steve Tshwete (Middelburg), MP313, Mpumalanga
* Chukela Elias Mokoena in ward two in Thaba Chweu (Sabie), MP321, Mpumalanga
* Prince Vusumuzi Mkhatshwa in ward five in Umjindi (Barberton), MP323, Mpumalanga
* Michael Gaorekoe Megalane in ward nine in Ramotshere Moiloa (Zeerust), NW385, North West.
