Implementation of public service wage agreement
The Director General of the Department of Public Service and Administration, Ms Yoliswa Makhasi, has taken the opportunity to express appreciation to public servants for their patience during the 2021/2022 wage negotiations.
The Director General said the salary negotiations have now concluded and a collective agreement has been concluded, which has two components:
A Non-Pensionable once off allowance effective from 1 April 2021, as follows:
Level Amount
- Levels 1-5 R1220.00
- Levels 6-7 R1352.00
- Levels 8-9 R1450.00
- Level 10-11 R1640.00
- Level 12 R1695.00
A once off 1.5% pensionable increase for all employees on Salary level 1 to 12.
The once off allowance will be implemented not later than 15 September 2021 and the implementation of the 1.5% pensionable increase will be announced as soon as possible.
The Director General thanked public servants for the service that they continue to render and in making a difference in the lives of citizens, especially the poorest of the poor, in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic.
