North West MEC for Public Safety, Howard Yawa says that expenditure within his department is on track as the second quarter expenditure report for the current financial year has shown that the department had as at the 30 September 2010 spend R172 713 which amounts to 51 percent of its approved budget of R336 862.
The provincial department led by MEC Howard Yawa was the only the department in the province that managed to spend 25 percent of its 2010/11 financial budget in the first quarter.
MEC Yawa is confident that his department will meet priorities and targets it has set itself during the current financial without underspending on its budget. He attributes the milestone of the department to forward planning, team work and quick adaptation to the Basic Accounting System (BAS) introduced at the beginning of the current financial year.
