Minister of Public Enterprises, Ms Lynne Brown, today appointed Ms Martie Janse van Rensburg as Acting Chairperson of Denel.
Ms Janse van Rensburg succeeds the outgoing Chairperson, Mr Zola Kunene, who led proceedings for the last time at the State-Owned Company’s Annual General Meeting in Centurion. Mr Kunene is retiring after serving a cumulative period of 9 years on the Board, both as a Non-Executive Director and Chairperson.
Minister Brown reiterated her commitment to review the Boards of all State Owned Companies in her portfolio within the first five months in office. She thanked Mr Kunene for his leadership at the helm of Denel.
“Thank you for your service to Denel and your country. I wish you well in your retirement,” said Minister Brown.
In welcoming Ms Janse Van Rensburg, Minister Brown wished her success in her new role and assured the Acting Chairperson of the Shareholder Representative’s support.
