Provincial policy summit will pave a way towards realisation of National Youth Develop Agency (NYDA) in Limpopo

As we continue to celebrate a vibrant youth voice the Limpopo Youth Commission and Umsobomvu Youth Funds in partnership with the South African Youth Council are inviting public inputs towards the drafting of the Limpopo Youth Development Strategy (2009 to 2014). This comes as a result of the national launch of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA). The existence of the NYA comes with a number of responsibilities for all stakeholders in the youth development sector in order to make the newly formed agency a reality in the Limpopo.

Objectives of the Summit are:

1. Setting a new tone for the Provincial Youth Development Agenda.
2. Bringing of all Youth Development Stakeholders on board regarding the recent policy changes.
3. Identifying youth development priorities for inclusion into the Provincial Growth and Development Strategy.
4. Develop guidelines for the establishment of the provincial multi-stakeholder team that will oversee provincial youth policy implementation in the next five years.
5. Develop a provincial perspective on the implementation of the national youth policy (2009 to 2014) and the National Youth Development Agency Act 54 of 2008.

180 delegates from community based youth formations, political youth formations, provincial government departments, municipal youth officers and the private sector will form part of the submit which takes place on 26 to 28 June 2009, in Waterberg district.

Young people, private sector and the community at large are encouraged to send their inputs towards the drafting of the Provincial Integrated Youth development Strategy that will guide the realisation of the National Youth Policy (2009-2014) and the implementation of the NYDA Act by using one of these methods:
