On 17 December 2010, Professor Keorapetse Kgositsile officially opened the South African exhibition at the World Festival of Black Arts and Cultures. The exhibition features some of the uniquely South African artefacts.
As part of the festival celebrations, each participating country has been allocated a special day, South Africa Day will be on 23 December 2010. Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Professor Kgositsile asserted that “we promise to make 23 December a memorial experience”.
In order to showcase SA’s artistic talent, the programme features performances by top artists. These artists include Tu-Nokwe, Sello Galane, Thandiswa Mazwai, Napo Mashiane, Masoja Msiza, Natalia Molebatsi, Kgafela Magogodi and Thabiso Mohari.
